Muggy with chance for showers Sunday, clear and sunny for Labor Day

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Welcome to the first day of September and the start of astronomical fall. This is also the mid-way point of this Labor Day weekend and it will be the grayest, dampest, and muggiest of the three-day holiday. Today we will see clouds and isolated showers or storms with highs in the mid-80s that feel like 90 degrees.
What’s to blame for this bleak weather? The first of two cold fronts, which will cross the region today and tonight triggering isolated showers and storms. Much of the area remains dry and cloudy, but if you are under a storm expect a brief downpour and gusty winds.
The second cold front approaches tonight bringing another round of isolated showers and storms. Skies will be mostly cloudy overnight with temperatures dropping to the mid-60s. Behind the front much cooler and drier air arrives from the north.
Labor Day will be mostly sunny and much cooler temperatures in the upper 70s. The most noticeable difference will be the low humidity.
Tuesday and Wednesday we will be treated to a taste of fall  with highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the mid-50s. Days will feature plenty of sun and low humidity.
Thursday begins a transition with increasing clouds and seasonable highs in the low 80s.
Another storm system arrives Friday and Saturday with rain and a chance of storms. Temperatures will once again fall to the 70s.
If you are taking a dip in the ocean water temperatures along the shore points will be in the low 70s with a low rip current risk.
