The United States Mint has been in production since 1792 and struck these historic coins along with many others. The peace silver dollars specifically came from the San Francisco, Denver, and Philadelphia branches of the U.S. Mint, where Philadelphia was the first of the four current active mints in the United States. These coins were designed by Anthony de Francisci through a competition to create a design that memorialized peace.
